5 Tips to start your Economical but Stylish Office
As general contractors, one of the many and prevalent challenges that our clients raise to us when they decide to build their office is of course, COST. Especially if you are a start up company and just started formalizing the address of your business. Here is a quick list of our top 5 tips in getting that cost-efficient office space.
1. The Open Layout
Tech giants did not just come up with the open layout fad because they really thought that it gives more productivity to their operations. They were really thinking about the cost. Too much partitions means more architectural work. Thus, if you are trying to save some cost, you might want to consider the open layout model.

2. Do not carpet!
Its been a tradition that corporate offices must be carpeted but to think about it, you don't really have to if you don't actually need it. Carpet is used by offices mainly because of acoustic purposes. If the office is big and foot traffic in the office is high, then carpet is a must to minimize noise. If your office is a small sized one and you have less than 20 employees to start with, polished concrete or vinyl tiles would be a good alternative! Perhaps you can do the carpet on a few targeted areas such as the common walkways or the board room.

3. No glass
Lets say the open layout is not an option and partitioning is a must for your operations. The best next approach is to stay away from glass partitioning. Glass is aesthetically nice for offices as it gives way to natural light but if on a budget, dry wall is the best alternative.
4. Open Ceiling
Same with carpets, putting on a ceiling is for acoustics more than aesthetic purposes. If you are not a voice heavy call center company, you can consider an open ceiling design. To achieve a clean and creative design, perhaps you can color it to provide an accent industrial look.

5. Keep it white!
To save on the paint job, stick with one color and of course, the safest is to go for the color of purity--WHITE! Along the way, it will be the easiest to adjust as well. Either you top it with another color when you have saved a bit or you can simply put on a nice artwork to give liveliness to your plain walls. Furniture would be easier to match as well on a white background.
